We have been a few times for dinner, which has always been delighful, so fancied trying Sunday lunch @boxtreerestaurant , every dish was delicious and perfectly executed! Definitely, the star dish was obviously the roast beef! It's really good value for money for a five course lunch. The wine is always fantastic, clearly the staff were very busy, but as always, very pleasant.

Great experience with lovely food. One of us fell ill during the meal and the staff were great at looking after us.
Fantastic service. Only let down is the rather average inside decoration, which definitely doesn’t add to the ‘special’ feel.

Sensationally satisfying and an Ilkley treasure. It was birthday treat, so put a tenner aside for the year and treat yourself to a real Yorkshire Sunday roast fine dining experience. Expensive yes, are you worth it? Abso-bloody-lutely!

All of the dishes were amazing, cooked to perfection, with finely balanced textures and flavours. My taste buds were particularly blown away by the amuse-bouches and dessert (the caramel chocolate delice must have been one of the best desserts I've eaten in a very long time).
I was very pleasantly surprised to see Kerisac on the drinks menu, due to it being one of my favourite cidres and because it's so difficult to find in the UK.
The staff members were attentive and knew the menu very well.
Overall, a perfect experience!
Dietary restrictions: We had specified on the booking that one of us was on a gluten-free diet. In response, all of the elements of the dishes that normally contain gluten were replaced with gluten-free elements (e.g. gluten-free bread), which was a very nice touch. I'm used to missing out on amuse-bouches or extras due to dietary restrictions, so it was so nice to be able to fully enjoy everything on the menu for a change.

Rather fabulous meal in an incredible setting.
£90 taster menu. 9 courses and each one was faultless. Beautifully presented and precisely prepared.
We've eaten at Michelin starred restaurants and this is every bit as worthy.
Highly recommend a visit.

Tasting menu. Some excellent food and great wine pairing. Missed out on 5 for the food because the cheese course had no taste of cheese, it was totally overwhelmed by the oats. The beef tartare was a stand out, as was the chocolate dessert. Very enjoyable evening, the staff were faultless.

Amazing tasting course and service. Second time and will definitely come back in the future. No pretentiousness, just quality throughout.

From arrival to leaving this restaurant treats its customers like they are their only guests. Attentive and friendly and a very comfortable relaxed atmosphere. As for the food there are not enough superlatives to do it justice. Flavours were subtle and then strong. Dishes served beautifully. And the idea of updating 60 years of previous menus is just inspired. I would very very highly recommend.
Parking: Parking is behind the restaurant in the town square and is £1 after 6pm

Came here for our ten year anniversary and they did not disappointment. Card on the table to congratulate was a lovely touch. The sommelier was fantastic, lots of great picks and information. And the food... I was a little worried it would be all style and no substance but I couldn't have been more wrong. Everything was out of this world in flavour, quality and texture. Honestly one of the best meals I have every eaten, worth every penny. We will hopefully be back soon!

There aren't many meals more English than a Sunday roast, and The Box Tree makes a fantastic roast. The quality of the produce and service is excellent, but they take everything up to a higher level without taking away from the "roast". Rather than reimagining, they add to the classic, with accompaniments like layered and double roasted potatoes, and delicately seasoned and cooked whole carrots. It's all an excellent addition that doesn't take away from the roast or Yorkshire pudding. The building itself is also historic and old, so you feel comforted and cosy in the warm space.
