Top bunch of guys. Polite, good communication and willing to help. I had a brake light switch replacement and they were happy to diagnose the issue when my local garage said they were too busy and unsure if they could resolve the problem. Brilliant staff & Exceptional Service! My partner broke down on the way to work, so I drove to her location & took her to work & returned to her car & called the AA. I called Bankside Garage & spoke to the lovely Julie to explain the predicament & asked if they dealt with all car breakdown issues as I didn't want to have it towed there to then be told they can't repair it. Julie said they do all sorts of repairs but to be on the safe side, call back once the AA have confirmed the issue. AA patrol arrived within 45 mins of reporting the breakdown & the lovely young man diagnosed that the driveshaft had broken. A quick call to Julie & she confirmed that they could deal with the repair but due to existing work commitments, it was unlikely that they would be able to look at the car next week. Within 7 minutes of speaking to Julie, the car was at the garage & 🔑 were handed over. Imagine my surprise at getting a call at 14:15 from Julie giving me a quote for the repair & saying if they can get the parts this afternoon, they just might be able to carry out the repair & I could get the car back later, so of course I authorised them to proceed with the repair. 2hrs later, Julie called to say that the repair was complete & the car was ready for collection! I cannot thank Julie enough for the wonderful service that she had provided both on the phone & in person & also to the AA patrol & not forgetting the mechanic that did the repair. Absolutely exceptional service provided by all at Bankside Garage & I am more than happy to endorse & recommend them as a decent & trustworthy local garage & my partner has declared that this will always be her No.1 preferred garage of choice over any other in Ilkley & or the surrounding area!

Blown Away. So I am mechanically minded and not a lot gets past me with garages. Was recommended this garage to help with my van as there were things that needed doing that required a ramp so I didn't want to take this on my self. Matty handled everything for me, he gave the van an full inspection and came back to me with a break down of what was needed, why and the cost. I was blown away by this and there was nothing I did not agree with whilst the cost was more than reasonable. Must admit, probably the best experience I have had from a garage and my old camper van now has years of life left in it. Above and beyond service, I wasn't pressured in to anything and I was given a brilliant understanding into what was urgent and what could wait if that was what I needed. Thank you so much - brilliant job.

Came up to Ilkley at the weekend. Gained a knocking sound I didn't like. Gave them a call, got me in at very short notice. Having diagnosed the problem, fixed it same day enabling me to get home without need for another overnight stay. Fast, brilliant service and even a cheap bill. Suffice to say if I'm in the area and need a garage. They'll be first one I call.

I’ve always had both my cars MOT’s and repairs done here for a few years now. Absolutely top class service, always say what they will do and for when. Never create unnecessary work for more money, very honest and knowledgeable Garage.

Absolute waste of time. Booked in for MOT and rear brake pads last month. Upon collection was told MOT done but not rear pads as a staff member down with sickness. Can’t be helped but not ideal. Also asked them to look at front bumper as needed a part which they made a note of and said would do when re book for rear pads. Rang on 29th September to book in for rear pads fitting and for bumper part to be fitted today 10th October. Was informed today via phone at 1pm that car ready to collect but no bumper repair as would take 7 days when ordered. The appointment was booked on the 29th, more than ample time to get the part. Two wasted trips where what was booked in for doing wasn’t done. Upon collection today my valet key for my Aston Martin DB9 was also missing the end cap. Mechanic admitted to dropping it and said accidents happen. Key will now not close properly so is effectively useless as will fall apart when used in ignition. Avoid them. Absolute joke and time wasters. To not have a job completed one time is annoying but you can make do, to have it happen a second time is joke and to break a key is incompetent. Poor attitude from staff also. If I could give zero stars or minus stars then after todays debacle I would do.

I took my car here in a bit of an emergency. It was leaking diesel and without my car I cannot work. As I had never been there before I was worried they might rip me off. Instead, they were completely honest about what the problem was and sorted it out for me very quickly. I could not have been happier and will definitely use them again. Thank you so much!

I have been using Bankside Garage for 6+ years and would recommend them to everyone. I have used them for routine services and MOTs but also when I have required repairs on my car. They are always friendly and helpful and keep me updated on how the work has gone. I will continue to use them for years to come.

Fitted some tires for me bought online. Did not seem balanced at all so brought it back. Was slightly better afterwards but shaking at speeds above 40mph was bad. Took it to another garage who said the tires were severely unbalanced save for a single steel rim weight fitted to my alloy rims. Car now drives perfectly but I've wasted £60.
