I took in an expensive washable wool mattress topper, really just to refresh it as it wasn’t dirty or marked in any way. When I collected it it had an overpowering chemical perfume smell which pervaded the house and made me sneeze and my eyes water. It did not occur to me that a professional launderer would use highly perfumed products on such bedding. I suspect far too much detergent was used, maybe by mistake. The manager did take it back and try to wash out the smell, firstly just with water then with an unperfumed detergent that I brought in after I was told that some people bring in their own. A pity I wasn’t offered this at the start. The mattress topper still smells strongly and I will not be able to use it. I won’t ask for another attempt as I was given the impression by the people working there that I was making a fuss as they couldn’t smell anything. In fact I was told that if it did still smell it must be a problem with my mattress topper. Perhaps in future customers could be advised on the products the laundry uses. Many people react badly to highly perfumed cleaning products.

I have used Lavender Laundry on a number of occasions and I have found the quick turnaround and prompt service very impressive. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to friends and family.

They do a good job but their prices are exorbitant.
